Completed in March of 2021, Abramson Architects—a winner of the prestigious American Architecture Awards in 2020—designed this California-modern concept home in the hugely desirable Tree Section of Manhattan Beach. Abundant light flows through the homes many large windows, full height Fleetwood window wall doors as well as the clerestory windows above creating an incredibly open yet very private feel.

Upon approach, the mature tropical and drought resistant landscape draws you in to the sanctuary beyond. Hidden behind the smooth concrete entry wall is a built in outdoor seating area with fire pit and views into the sophisticated living room of the home. The front wall of floor to ceiling windows effortlessly slides open for indoor/outdoor flow. Currently used as a modern entertainers bar with seating area, this room also converts to a formal living room if desired. Of note is the clean burning hanging bio-ethanol fireplace. On the south side of the room is an efficient home office with large storage closet and front window that walls off by a custom wood sliding door. Just beyond, down the hall, is a bold red bookcase perfect for exhibiting a library collection, art or family photographs. At the back of the home is a designer gourmet Boffi kitchen including all Gaggenau steam and convection ovens, smart induction stove, dishwasher and separate oversized refrigerator and freezer with ice machine. The cabinetry is extremely custom with light up drawers, breakfast pullout counter and sliding doors. Handmade Italian tiles surround the drop down exhaust fan above the large marble island. The kitchen looks over the dining room with Artemide chandelier, out to the large and inviting backyard with two separate entertaining areas and large built-in pool with hot tub. There is even a gigantic concrete wall which shields from the south side buildings and doubles as a screen for projected movies as well as a vertical garden with over 1600 plants. Across from the kitchen is the ample family room with a 2-sided fireplace visible from both the exterior backyard patio and the interior. Also on this floor is a flex room currently used as a playroom/guest suite with an adjacent 3/4 bath.
